Travis Crume
Chief Crume brings a deep commitment to public service and a strong connection to the Rogue Valley. Although born in Southern California, he has spent the majority of his life here, shaped by summers on the Rogue River and Lost Creek Lake, autumn days in the forests of the Upper Rogue, and winters on Mt. Ashland. His local roots run deep, and so does his dedication to the communities we serve.
Travis began his fire service career in 2009 as a volunteer with Jackson County Fire District 1. In 2012, he was hired as the Training Officer for Evans Valley Fire District, where he played a key role in developing firefighter training programs. He became Fire Chief of Evans Valley in 2018 and, in 2023, was selected to lead Jackson County Fire District 4.
He holds a degree in Fire Science from Rogue Community College. He has served in several regional leadership roles, including Past President of the Rogue Interagency Training Association, instructor at RCC, and current President of the Rogue Valley Fire Chiefs Association.
Chief Crume leads with integrity, service, and a strong belief in community-driven solutions. Under his leadership, our district remains focused on operational excellence, regional collaboration, and protecting the people and landscapes of the Upper Rogue.
My approach to leadership is simple: it is grounded in service, collaboration, and a deep respect for the people we serve. Whether we’re improving fire response capabilities, expanding community outreach, or planning for the future, I believe that the best solutions are locally driven and built to last.
