Fire Chief Travis Crume

 

Chief Crume, a lifelong resident of the Rogue Valley, began his career as a Volunteer Firefighter for Jackson County Fire District #1 in 2009. Simultaneously, he owned and operated a construction company and attended Fire Science classes through Rogue Community College.

 

Chief Crume finished EMT and Firefighter Academy in 2010 and was hired by Evans Valley Fire District #6 in 2013 as a Lieutenant Training Officer. In 2015, Chief Crume was awarded the OFIA “Oregon Fire Instructor of the Year” award for his work as the President of the Rogue Interagency Training Association.

 

After working five years with Evans Valley Fire District #6, Chief Crume was promoted to Fire Chief in 2018. In 2023, Chief Crume accepted the position of Fire Chief with Jackson County Fire District #4.

Accounts Manager Lalaina Castle

 

Lalaina joined the JCFD4 family in 2019 as Assistant to the Chief. She has since taken on the position of Accounts Manager, handling the Districts payroll, books, and acting liaison for the Board of Directors.

Lalaina, with her husband Marc, their children, and grandchildren, have been community members of Shady Cove since March 2018.

 

She enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, caring for their multiple pets. and rock hounding. She relishes in all of what living in Shady Cove and our valley means, and has to offer.
